According to Amnesty International (see: Oaxaca: Clamour for justice), at least 18 people were violently killed during the political crisis in Oaxaca. Various human rights organizations, both at national and international, have been denouncing the lack of effective investigations on these deaths. Together with the families of the victims, these organizations have been urging the authorities to ensure that those responsible for these deaths are held to account and that all relatives receive adequate reparations.
SIPAZ, during its last visit to Oaxaca in August 2007, has received the testimonies of two widows: Florina Jiménez Lucas (widow of José Jiménez Colmenares, killed on 10 August 2006) and Carmen Marín García (widow of Alejandro García Hernández, killed on 14 October 2006).
