Women’s organizations demanded that the governor of Oaxaca, Gabino Cué, put an end to feminicides in the state following the appearance of the corpse of a decapitated and mutilated woman in the farm of San Pedro Ixtlahuaca, a municipality adjacent to the Oaxacan capital. In accordance with these groups, there exists an increase in the number of violent murders of women, particularly in domestic violence and gender. Yesica Sánchez Maya, representative of the organization Consorcio Oaxaca, noted that violence against women has exploded due to the incapacities of justice organizations. ”At this time we have 56 murders, and we will end the year with 100,” she warned.
