On 16 April, members of the Voz del Amate who are being held in the CERSS No. 5 of San Cristóbal de Las Casas denounced a lack of medical attention and medicines that puts at risk the health of those incarcerated there. ”Common diseases have become incurable due to lack of medical attention and medicines.”
“As in the case of our comrade Rosario Díaz Méndez who for more than 2 years has sought medical care and treatment, but due to the lack of responsibility of the penal authorities his condition has worsened, such that he has headaches, loss of memory, and nausea,” they observe in the communiqué.
