Commission of visit for Alberto Patishtán
On 8 November, relatives of Alberto Patishtán succeeded in visiting him for the first time since his transfer from Chiapas to CEFEREZO No. 8 in Guasave, Sinaloa. The commission of visit was made up of María Gabriela Patishtán, daughter of Alberto, ex-prisoner Sacario Hernández Hernández from the Believing People (who was released through hunger strike in 2008), and Cecilia Santiago Vera from the movement in solidarity for the release of Alberto and prisoners in Chiapas.
They shared in a subsequent report that “Alberto says that he continued his fast until 31 October, and also that his treatment against glaucoma was replaced by some drops used to reduce redness of the eyes, which not only is insufficient but rather also aggravates his condition. His imprisonment is 23 hours a day in a solitary cell. Despite this, he finds himself strong and in good spirits; he sends his greetings and thanks for the solidarity with all comrades in tune with this struggle.”
It should be remembered that Albeto Patishtán was imprisoned in several prisons in the state of Chiapas, where he participated in a number of protests, including hunger strikes, to denounce human-rights violations.
