@Chiapas Paralelo

On December 4th, the Human Rights Ombudsman of the People of Oaxaca (DDHPO) ruled on the recent transfemicides that occurred in Oaxaca, urging the authorities to “guarantee access to truth, justice, reparation and avoid the repetition of these hate crimes.”

The autonomous institution also opened a file related to the transfemicides of Geovanna and Sherlyn, which occurred on November 25th and December 1st, respectively.

The ombudsman Bernardo Rodriguez Alamilla stated that “it is essential to take all the necessary measures to prevent, investigate and punish acts of violence and discrimination based on diverse gender identity, regardless of who commits them and in the sphere of action in which they occur, as well as offering comprehensive reparation to the victims of such acts.”
