In a communique from August 19, the ejido San Sebastián Bachajón, adherents of the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle, informed that three of their six political prisoners were liberated on August 18th upon an injunction the recognized the illegal detention and torture of the three. Such persons, Juan Antonio Gómez Silvano, Mario Aguilar Silvano y Roberto Gómez Hernández, were held in the Cereso #12 in Yajalón.
To date, the ejido San Sebastián Bachajón has had 120 political prisoners and in this last communique, they demanded the liberation of the three that are still held: Esteban Gómez Jimenez, held in en Cintalpa de Figeroa (Amate #14), Santiago Moreno Peréz and Emilio Jimenéz Gómez, prisoners held in Playas de Catazaja (Cereso #17). They also demanded “[…] THE LIBERATION OF OTHER POLITICAL PRISONERS IN MEXICO AND THE WORLD”, and the “IMMEDIATE LIBERATION OF ALL DEFENDERS OF WATER OF THE YAQUI TRIBE, MARIO LUNA AND FERNANDO JIMENEZ INJUST PRISONERS, IN GENERAL FOR ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS OF THE COUNTRY.”
Through their words, they held responsible the “BAD GOVERNMENT, FEDERAL AND STATE FORCES OF THE RECENT EVENTS IN THE COMMUNITY OF SANTA MARIA OSTULA THE PAST JULY 19TH”, they denounced those “RESPONSIBLE WHO RELEASED THE TWO INTELECTUAL AUTHORS OF THE MURDER OF THE TEACHER AND COMPAÑERO GALEANO, […] FROM THE CIOAC-HISTORICA”, and they expressed their solidarity with the community of San Francisco Xochicuautla by saying “YOU ALL ARE NOT ALONE BECAUSE WE ARE ON THE LOOKOUT OF YOUR STRUGGLE”.
