Chiapas: Members of Armed Forces Capture Plane and Narcotics Laboratory with Cocaine

@DiariodeChiapas

The Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA) reported that in coordination with the Mexican Air Force (FAM), they seized a plane from South America, which contained six packages with approximately 136 kilos of cocaine inside. This as a result of aerial surveillance processes, within the framework of the agreements established in the Regional Interoperability Conference on Violence and Security of the Air Space, between the Latin American and Caribbean countries.

“Due to radar contact and later visual contact, it was observed that the suspicious aircraft landed 32 kilometers southeast of Mapastepec, Chiapas, where there was a group of people, who, realizing the proximity of military personnel, opted to abandon the alleged illicit cargo and flee the place”, SEDENA explained. The cache was handed over to the corresponding authorities and there were no detainees.

On another note, elements of the Secretariat of the Mexican Navy (SEMAR) seized a drug lab in the municipality of Tuxtla Chico, on the border with Guatemala, where they found drugs, chemicals used to make synthetic drugs, weapons and vehicles. The uniformed officers stated that they found at the scene: “around 900 kilograms of alleged cocaine, 100 kilograms of chemical ingredients, weapons and three vehicles.” Finally, everything confiscated was handed over to the Attorney General’s Office, based in Tapachula.
