On November 7th, Jesus Solorzano Diaz, a member of the Carranza Region Emiliano Zapata Campesino Organization – (OCEZ-RC) was murdered in the community of San Isidro, Venustiano Carranza municipality. According to some media, the attackers were identified as members of an alleged armed group from that region called “Los Pelones” headed by Alejandro Cruz Ruiz, alias “El Coyote.”
They said that a group of four people arrived in the community of San Isidro and when they were identified, the residents tried to block their way but the aggressors opened fire on houses with people present, leaving one dead and several injured people with gunshots, who were hospitalized.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) through the Central District Attorney’s Office said that it opened an investigation against those who are responsible. However, during the march organized by family and friends of Jesus Solorzano on November 8th, one of the spokespersons of the OCEZ-RC said that “in these events the authorities of the federal, state and municipal governments (…) have paid no attention despite the constant complaints, on the contrary their misdeeds continue to increase in coordination with the police bodies that are located in San Francisco Pujiltic.”
In addition, during this same march, they demanded that the wave of violence that is experienced in this municipality be stopped, mainly by the elderly, “the girls and boys who live in fear when they hear what is happening in our region, that is why we urge them to unify and confront these events.”
