Guerrero: Two Members of CIPOG-EZ Kidnapped– Road Blocked

@ Baja Palabra

The Indigenous and Popular Council of Guerrero-Emiliano Zapata (CIPOG-EZ) reported the disappearance of two indigenous people from Chilapa and members of the organization since January 25th, 2022.

“Brothers and sisters, we inform you that yesterday afternoon, January 25th, at approximately 5:40 in the afternoon, we lost all communication with our colleagues Pablo Hilario Morales and Samuel Hernandez Sanchez, after they were detained by the municipal police and a commander of the Atlixctac City Council, passing the Coca-Cola heading to Chilapa”, they reported.

Through this statement, the organization pointed out that despite the mobilization that took place in Atlixtac, the Police have reported that they have not detained the indigenous people.

They fear “for the lives of our brothers, but the authorities do not seem to care about life” and mention that “it is more than evident that the Guerrero government fears attacking the interests of criminal groups, who move freely, kidnapping, murdering, torturing, shooting against the population throughout the state; Acapulco, Chilapa, in different parts of the mountains, in the Mountain of Tlapa, Chilpancingo, there are scenes of extortions and murders and the inaction of the authorities is clearly a sign that they are in collusion with criminal and narco-paramilitary groups.”

There is information that since 8:00 on Thursday morning, January 27th, 2022, the Tlapa-Chilapa highway has been blocked by the CIPOG-EZ and the police of the Regional Coordinator of Community Authorities of the Founding Peoples (CRAC-PF) in order to demand the presentation alive of their disappeared companions. They announced that they would not release the highway until Pablo Hilario Morales and Samuel Hernandez Sanchez were found alive.
