Chiapas: Global Action ¨Stop the War against Zapatista Peoples¨

On June 8th, the global action ‘Stop the War against the Zapatista Peoples’ was held in solidarity with the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) for the attacks it has suffered.

In particular, they demanded that the health of Jorge Lopez Santiz, a support base of the EZLN, who was shot on May 22nd in the autonomous community of Moises y Gandhi, be guaranteed, as well as the dismantling of the armed groups that have been attacking the Zapatistas.

Another demand was the immediate release of Manuel Gomez, a Zapatista support base, imprisoned in the Ocosingo prison. “He demands his immediate release because he is imprisoned without having committed any crime.”
