From an assembly for Patishtán in El Bosque (@ SIPAZ)
On 13 July, the Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas Center for Human Rights (Frayba) declared that federal courts had sentenced in favor of Alberto Patishtán Gómez, a development that thus counters “the unjustified and forced transfer that took place on 20 October 2011, [whereby he was moved] to the Federal Center for Social Readaptation (Cefereso No. 8) in Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico, when Alberto Patishtán found himself on hunger strike demanding his release, together with a group of other prisoners who similarly have been unjustly incarcerated, named those in solidarity with the Voz del Amate,” notes Frayba in its press-release.
At the end of these nine months, the Second Court confirms the legal motion that calls for the return of Alberto Patishtán to the State Center for Social Reinsertion of the Sentenced No. 5 (CERSS No. 5) in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, where he had been held previously.
Similarly, Frayba continues to demand the immediate release of professor Alberto, “given that the accusations directed against him are inconsistent and unjust, given that he never committed the crime of which he is accused, and in light of the fact that he has been imprisoned now for 12 years.”
