On 20 November, in observance of the week of actions linked to the day 25 November, International Day against Violence against Women, was announced the Popular Forum for the Defense of the Earth and Territory and Food Sovereignty, which is coordinated by 14 organizations in Chiapas, among which is included the International Service for Peace. The event will be held from 22 to 24 November at CIDECI-Unitierra (San Cristóbal de las Casas), with a closing act on 25 November that will consist of a march that will begin at 1oam from the white bridge to the Plaza of Resistance. Subsequently there will be held an exchange of seeds, a tianguis of organic goods, and the public reading of the forum’s final declaration.
The Popular Forum has as its aim the opening of a space for reflection, action, and exchange of experiences and cases of social struggle against destructive neoliberal projects that adversely affect Mother Earth in different parts of Latin America.
