Chiapas: Lack of Medicines for Prisoners in San Cristobal de Las Casas Jail Denounced

@Chiapas Paralelo

On December 1st, members of the organization Voice of Indigenous in Resistance (La Voz de Indígenas en Resistencia) denounced in a statement the shortage of medicines for the people held in Cereso Number 5 in San Cristobal de Las Casas.

In the statement, they reported that despite protestations “before the director as the highest authority in this CERESO Number 5” for several weeks their requests have been ignored, putting their health and integrity at risk.

Among other medications, they point out the lack of paracetamol, tramadol, flextrin and diclofenac.
